AML refers to the strict legal checks and verification procedures that conveyancing solicitors are legally obligated to perform on every client.

These measures are designed to prevent the property market from being used to launder illicit funds or finance criminal activities. In practice, you will be asked to provide certified proof of your identity (such as a passport or driving licence) and documentation proving the legitimate source of your funds as well as your source of wealth (where the money is coming from and how has it been accumulated?).

We will not be able to proceed with your transaction until these checks are completely satisfied.
