GLOSSARY
BUILDING REGULATIONS
Building Regulations are a set of national standards established to ensure the structural safety, health, energy efficiency, and accessibility of buildings.
They apply whenever a property undergoes significant alterations, such as conversions, extensions, electrical rewiring or the installation of new windows and boilers.
During a purchase, we will check whether the seller has obtained the necessary local authority building control certificates or regularisation approvals for past work.
Indemnity insurance may be offered by the seller’s conveyancer in the event that the certification is not available.
