GLOSSARY
JOINT TENANTS
Joint Tenants is a legal structure for co-owning a property where two or more individuals own the entire property together as a single, undivided unit, typically holding equal 50/50 shares.
The defining characteristic of joint tenancy is the ‘right of survivorship’. If one owner passes away, their share automatically and immediately passes to the surviving owner(s). This is the most common arrangement for married couples and civil partners.
