GLOSSARY
NOTICE TO COMPLETE
A Notice to Complete is a formal legal demand served by one party's solicitor to the other when the party at fault fails to complete the transaction on the agreed completion date.
It typically imposes a strict new deadline within which completion must take place. Failing to comply with a Notice to Complete constitutes a fundamental breach of contract.
The innocent party gains the legal right to rescind the contract, forfeit or receive back the deposit, sue for damages and claim penalty interest for every day the delay continues.
